The Matson House was built in the late 1800’s as one of over 100 small schools in Washington County. The building was used as a school until 1936 when Mr. and Mrs. Campbell bought the school and surrounding farm to use as their home. Since 2011, the house has been renovated twice. This final renovation gives more privacy and comfort for 2 individuals to make it their home while in the area. The view of the mountains and visiting wildlife are a plus to the country setting, but the house is located very close to conveniences of Johnson City.
